The Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special was recently released, and it looked like the perfect way to start the new year for Potterheads. Fans were overjoyed to see Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint reuniting, and while they reveled in the nostalgia offered by the reunion special, a few keen eyes discovered a huge blunder in the HBO Max special.
Emma Watson rose to stardom as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, and she revealed in the reunion special that she was obsessed with Harry Potter since she was a child. A photo of a young child wearing Mickey Mouse ears appears in the episode as Watson recounts her passion for Hermione’s character and how she felt she was ready to play it onscreen from the moment she first read the books. Fans have recently noticed that the girl in the photo is actually Emma Roberts, not Emma Watson.
Emma Roberts posted the exact photo that featured in the reunion episode on her Instagram account on February 9, 2012. Emma Roberts is Julia Roberts’ niece who rose to stardom on Nickelodeon’s Unfabulous.
