Goldberg Provides Details Of WWE Contract And He Will Fight Twice Annually

Over the past seven years or so, Goldberg and WWE have had a pretty interesting relationship. Since being revealed as the WWE 2K17 cover star, he has made a number of appearances and faced off against the top competition. For Goldberg fans, the past few years have been somewhat of a throwback.

A timely reminder of what the man was capable of in his prime came from his decimation of some of the biggest names in the organisation. He has easily defeated opponents like Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley, The Fiend, Kevin Owens, and Dolph Ziggler. Since almost a year ago, the former Universal Champion has not competed in professional wrestling.

He last competed at the 2022 Elimination Chamber high-profile live event, where he lost to Roman Reigns via technical submission. It follows that someone will inevitably wonder if he will still be wrestling in 2023. At this time, it’s unclear how Goldberg’s WWE contract stands. However, he has clarified it in the past, stating that it also lasts through 2023.

Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 39

The source claims that he hasn’t stopped competing for in-ring matches and that he was prepared and willing to do so. “My days are still young. Though my days may be numbered, they are not yet over. When Da Man returns in 2023, it will be interesting to see whom he has to face. It doesn’t hurt to hold onto your hopes for his potential return considering that the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 39 are approaching.

With Reigns’ dominant run in WWE over the last few years, in addition to the long-term plotline based on his blood line, a match against The Rock will indeed make a lot of sense, both economically and in terms of storytelling. The only question is whether Johnson is willing to return to wrestling now that he’s not only a big film star but also an operator of the XFL, which will begin its season in February. Whatever occurs, it will only be a matter of time once fans find out, as WrestleMania season approaches.
