Following the eagerly anticipated release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, the next instalment will be included in a 4K box set collection, which will be packaged in a ghost trap. The latest film in the Ghostbusters franchise, directed by Jason Reitman; has broken the $100 million mark in the domestic box office. With the film’s success, star Dan Aykroyd hinted at the prospect of a future crossover with the original Ghostbusters team and Ghostbusters: Afterlife; making a Ghostbusters collection more valuable for fans to acquire.
Walmart, which is known for being the go-to destination for Ghostbusters collectables; is now selling a Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection; which will be packaged in a Ghost Trap. The 8-disc gift package includes 4K Ultra HD and 2K versions of Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II; and Ghostbusters: Afterlife, as well as Blu-ray; cover art and digital copies.
It will also include the rare and highly sought-after book Making of Ghostbusters; which recounts the creative processes of the original Ghostbusters film; in addition to the valued collection. The collection is presently available for pre-order on Walmart’s website for $88.99, with an expected release date of February next year. Despite being billed as the ultimate collection, the 2016 Ghostbusters: Answer the Call is not included in the set. However, the other two discs are unclear at this time. There are still no official specifics about the next two CDs, aside from the cover art, which depicts white outlines of Spengler’s Neutrona Wand and Proton Pack, which enthusiasts assume represent exclusive bonus materials and features.
