Jack Gleeson, the actor famous for playing the role of everybody’s least favorite character, Joffrey Baratheon, has gotten married. As per the reports from The Irish Mirror, the actor tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Roisin O’Mahony.
The couple got married on August 27th and the news was confirmed by Fr Patsy Lynch. He is the priest who got the couple married and informed them that the wedding was a “pre-wedding ceremony”.
Jack is known for his portrayal of the Game of Thrones character, Joffrey Baratheon on the superhit show by HBO. He was also a part of Batman Begins and Out of Her Mind. As per Father Lynch, the real ceremony will be held in England but the family has been here for holidays in Ballinskelligs.
He added that they had a dignified and lovely wedding ceremony. The father even revealed that Jack said it was a wonderful and moving ceremony after which they went for a meal. He added how it was a relaxed aura from the beginning and the simplicity touched everybody.
Father Lynch also shared, “Everyone down here knows Jack and that shows they’re just part of the whole community. When I met him, it was as if we knew each other all our lives, he’s that kind of person. There’s nothing artificial.”
Ever since his epic role as Joffrey, Jack has not been active in the public spotlight as he is taking a break from acting after Out of Her Mind. He had previously revealed that he might not want to continue down this path forever. The actor added that he stopped enjoying it as much as he used to.
Jack further explained that it has become a prospect of living now, which was previously done for recreation with his friends or for fun. He shared that when he started making a living out of it, his relationship with it changed. However, he clarified he does not hate acting but it is not what he wants to do.
