Cartoon Network Turns 30
Founded by Ted Turner on October 1, 1992, the cable television channel is popular among the audience for animated shows like Power Girls, Tom and Jerry, Ben 10, and more. Above all, the content is been loved by the children, featuring action, humour and interesting stories. Truly, for a 90s kid, the channel was a gem.
On October 11, Tuesday, the news of Cartoon Network merging with Hollywood company Warner Bros was announced. Likewise, the news shocked many and surprisingly fans could not process that the channel won’t be the same anymore.
A Warner Bros. official confirmed to media outlet Polygon that 82 employees from the scripted, unscripted, and animation divisions were let go on Wednesday. A total of 43 of the open posts will remain unfilled by the organization.

As netizens tweeted mentioning ‘RIP Cartoon Network’, the channel took to social media and clarified the same. CN said it is not going anywhere via the Instagram page. Though no further details disclosed about the new collaboration, we hope to see a big announcement soon.
Also, there is no discontinuation of currently running shows. But as a part of a business collab, theCN will undergo an update as the company announced a strategic realignment with Warner Bros and Discovery.
