For the first two episodes of the Green Lantern HBO Max Series, director has been found

For the first two episodes of the new Green Lantern series on HBO Max, a director has been found. Rather of focusing on the main Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, as in the 2011 film starring Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds, Green Lantern will follow a variety of lanterns throughout the decades.

Jeremy Irvine (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) and Finn Wittrock (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) will star in the series, which will introduce various members of the Green Lantern Corps, a cosmic law enforcement agency (American Horror Story).

Lee Toland Krieger is scheduled to oversee the first two episodes of Green Lantern, according to Deadline. While the next project will be Krieger’s first cooperation with HBO Max, he has previously worked with Green Lantern creator Greg Berlanti as well as Warner Bros. TV, according to Deadline.

Krieger directed two episodes of Berlanti’s Superman & Lois recently. His other directing credits include teenage dramas like Riverdale and The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, Netflix’s romance thriller YOU, and even feature films like The Age of Adaline, in which Green Lantern (2011) alum Blake Lively starred. Although no release date has been set, work on the series began in April 2021.

Krieger’s diverse television skills in a variety of genres will serve him well as a director on Green Lantern. Furthermore, his prior work on DC Comics-based programming – Superman & Lois – demonstrates that he has a natural understanding of the characters and settings of the comics and will be able to effectively transfer the content from page to screen.

HBO Max will most certainly build a close relationship with Krieger, who is already familiar with HBO/WBTV programming practises, thanks to the popularity of Superman & Lois and the fervent expectation of the new Green Lantern.
