Florence Pugh Turns Heads at ‘A Good Person’ Screening in Manhattan

The British actress and producer Florence Pugh stole the show as she arrived at the Metrograph on Manhattan’s Lower East Side for a screening of her new film, A Good Person. Her stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray chose a backless necktie shirt, a black maxi-skirt, and towering platform heels for the 27-year-old Oscar candidate.

Hairstylist Peter Lux fashioned her flaxen bob into an extravagant updo, while makeup artist Alex Babsky highlighted Pugh’s lovely brown eyes and bushy brows with pink lipstick on her mouth. The star’s clothing mirrored the tuxedo top worn by Jennifer Beals as her welder-stripper character in the 1983 dance drama Flashdance during a memorable dating scene.

Florence was joined by her parents, Deborah Mackin and Clinton Pugh, a restaurant, and her adored grandmother, whom she fondly refers to as “Granzo Pat.” Pugh was seen patiently attaching one of her mother’s necklaces, who was dressed to the nines in a stunning white flowery coat.

The Wonder actress served as both producer and starring actress in A Good Person. She co-stars with Morgan Freeman in the sorrow drama, which was written; produced and directed by her ex-live-in boyfriend, Zach Braff, from April 2019 until early 2022. Braff first encountered Florence when he directed her in his 12-minute Adobe Creative Cloud short film; In the Time It Takes To Get There, in August 2018.

Despite their breakup, Braff has maintained cordial relations with the 5ft3in blonde; dining with her and her family on Saturday nights. “I’m just in awe of her talent,” he gushed to ET on Monday. “And I said, ‘I wanna write this [movie] for Florence. What I’m writing is really gonna be challenging, and she’s incredible.'”

Pugh’s appearance on Monday night’s broadcast of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC was pre-recorded. Later this year, fans may see her as Jean Tatlock in the biopic Oppenheime; which opens in the United States on July 21, and as Princess Irulan in Dune: Part Two; which opens in the United States on November 3.

Florence was pleased to see her A Good Person co-star, Zoe Lister-Jones; who plays Simone in the film, at the screening. Pugh’s acting in the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film as vehicular manslaughterer Allison is earning critical accolades; ahead of its UK/US cinema release this Friday.
