The Flight Attendant has finally released new information about their upcoming season including plot details, a new cast of series regular, and recurring guest stars. This series is based on Chris Bohjalian’s 2018 novel of the same name.
HBO Max’s Emmy-nominated show had its first season premiere on Thanksgiving 2020. The show is now giving us a sneak peek at what is in store for the fans in season 2. In season 1, Kaley Cuoco’s character, Cassie Bowden is an alcoholic flight attendant and woke up in Bangkok next to a dead body without any memory of what happened.
The character goes crazy after the traumatic event but recovers enough to put the pieces together. At the end of the first season, Cassie manages to capture the dead guy’s murdered and turned things around for herself by deciding to quit drinking. She even gets an offer to be a part of the CIA’s civilian asset program.
EW has recently revealed the new plot details for The Flight Attendant season 2. The upcoming season will see Cassie sober, living in Los Angeles while moonlighting as a CIA asset in her spare time. However, when an overseas assignment leads to her witness a murder, she becomes involved in another international intrigue.
The first season’s Zosia Mamet, Griffin Matthews, Deniz Akdeniz and Rosie Perez are set to return along with season 1 guests T. R. Knight, Yasha Jackson, and Audrey Grace Marshall. New series regulars have been announced as well. The list of recurring guest stars includes Cheryl Hines, Jessie Ennis, Mae Martin, Margaret Cho, Santiago Cabrerra and Shohreh Aghdashloo.
The show was first conceived as a limited series with the first season having only 8 episodes. However, it is now going past the book for the second season. Kaley was appreciated for her portrayal as Cassie in season 1. Viewers will be able to see more of her versatility as she portrays Cassie’s struggle to stay sober.
The series will continue to bring in new drama and thrills that season 1 brought. The Flight Attendant’s second season will premiere in Spring 2022.
