Fans Demand YG Entertainment To Provide BLACKPINK Jisoo Solo Update

Fans have been trending “JISOO SOLO UPDATE” on social media for months now, but YG Entertainment is yet to react and address their concern. Jisoo is the only remaining member of BLACKPINK who is yet to make a solo debut. Jennie was the first BLACKPINK member who made her solo debut back in 2018 with a solo single titled “Solo”. Three years after that Rosé became the next BLACKPINK member to go solo in 2021, who released a single album with two songs – On The Ground & Gone. And a few months after that Lisa made her solo debut with her single album Lalisa, which also only consisted of two songs.

Besides that, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa have also been part of other songs outside of BLACKPINK as solo artists. Lisa was part of collab single with DJ Snake, Ozuna, and Megan Thee Stallion titled “SG”, Rosé released a new solo song in Born Pink (BLACKPINK’s second studio album) titled “Hard To Love”, and Jennie recently debuted a new song at Born Pink world tour titled “You&Me” (however, it has not been officially released on any music streaming platform yet).

Why Is Jisoo The Only BLACKPINK Member With No Solo Song?

Jisoo is the only BLACKPINK member who has never released a solo song, even more than 6 years after BLACKPINK made their debut as a K-Pop group. YGE first confirmed plans for Jisoo’s solo debut back in 2020, via a statement where they also confirmed that she’ll be the last BLACKPINK member to make her solo debut. However, they have not provided any new updates regarding the same ever since.

Even though Jisoo has not released a solo song outside of BLACKPINK, she has worked as a lead actress on JTBC’s Snowdrop.

“In 2020, @ygent_official promised that @BLACKPINK’s #JISOO would make her SOLO DEBUT after Snowdrop finished filming. We have heard NOTHING! #BLINKS demand an UPDATE on the status of Jisoo‘s OVERDUE solo debut!” a fan wrote on Twitter.

“Where is Jisoo‘s solo debut? It was first promised in June 2020. It is now December 2022, we ask for answers.” added another.

Earlier this year, Jisoo seemed to hint that she will release her solo single/s this year. She also addressed her solo debut in a Rolling Stone interview which was published back in May.

“I’m not sure how much I want to go solo yet. The music I listen to, the music I can do, and the music I want to do — what should I choose? I love songs with lots of instruments.” she said. “I love different bands and rock music. What do people want from me? There’s a chaos of conflicting questions. So I’m still tilting my head in confusion. I’m not sure what will happen with my solo plans this year.”

Jisoo made her comeback as a BLACKPINK member this year, after almost a 2-year-long hiatus, with the release of the group’s second studio album titled “Born Pink”. Jisoo has been covering Camila Cabello’s “Liar” for her solo stage on the Tour.
