Fans are being asked to support India by Shawn Mendes and other foreign celebrities

Shawn Mendes, Kunal Nayyar, Ellen DeGeneres, Mindy Kaling, Jada Pinkett Smith, and other foreign celebrities have asked fans to donate to help India battle the deadly second wave of the pandemic.

On Friday, singer Shawn Mendes took to social media to make an urgent request to his fans and followers. He requested donations to support India in battling the deadly second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

Support From Hollywood

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, actress Jada Pinkett Smith, actor Lana Condor, YouTube star Lilly Singh, and The Big Bang Theory actor Kunal Nayyar, Game of Thrones star Richard Madden, were among the celebrities who asked fans to help India. Many of them have backed Priyanka Chopra and Jay Shetty, a motivational speaker, in their efforts to raise funds for India.

Shawn discussed how the coronavirus situation in India is the worst in the world, with several cases going unreported, in his video. “If India’s culture or people have touched you in some way, please donate, share, or do whatever you can to help,” he said.

Lilly posted a photo of herself with the words “Donate for India” inscribed across her chest. “Now that I’ve got your attention,” she wrote, “direct your attention to the donate button.” Both Priyanka and Jay’s fundraiser tweets were also amplified by Jada.
