After the very public arrest of Ezra Miller, fans have been calling out Warner Bros. They are requesting the company to replace the actor in future DCEU films.
This might have been the reason why rumors of Ezra being replaced surfaced online. But these reports did not give a clear insight into the matter of replacement. Ezra was arrested not once but twice by the Hawaiian police in 2022.
During these reports of their arrest, a viral video resurfaced where they were choking a woman. Ezra was arrested initially for his misconduct with a couple in Hawaii. The actor had reportedly harassed the pair and yelled profanities.
The following incident had the actor arrested for assaulting a 26-year-old woman and imbibing injuries. Fans were thrilled at the unconfirmed development because the studio has been slammed before in the years leading up to 2022.
However, many fans of the DCEU were upset when it became clear that Ezra will not reprise his role. Amidst this, Warner Bros have received backlash for recasting Johnny Depp as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts.
However, despite Johnny being replaced, Amber Heard was not recast as Mera in Aquaman. This makes it clear why fans assumed Ezra will be recast by the studio. After these reports surfaced online, various fans celebrated this rumor of Ezra being recast.
A twitter entertainment portal, ScreenGeek claimed that Warner Bros and Discovery have decided to replace Ezra with Dylan O’Brien as The Flash. This caused a lot of commotion online as fans were excited to see the Teen Wolf alum in and as The Flash. Dylan was one of the two actors who was a fan-favorite to replace Ezra.
But this is not possible as the film wrapped months ago in October 2021. Even Variety’s Adam B. tweeted that Ezra will not be recast for the upcoming movie. He wrote, “I’m told that WB is *not* considering replacing Ezra Miller on THE FLASH. Miller was arrested twice in Hawai’i this year, once for disorderly conduct and harassment, and again for second-degree assault.”
But his confirmation does not mean that Warner Bros is not thinking about replacing Ezra. After the merging of Discovery and Warner Bros, there might be possibilities that the studio will replace stars like Amber Heard and Ezra Miller.
This means Dylan’s casting in the DCEU is still uncertain.
