WWE Hall of Famer, Goldberg, is reportedly a free agent as of right now. In actuality, they said his WWE contract expires at the end of 2022, so he has been available since then. Despite the fact that no deal to extend or renew was ever reached, he only took part in one match the year prior, losing to Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at Elimination Chamber in February 2022.
There were still ten more months on Goldberg’s contract when he wrestled his last encounter for the organisation (so far). Goldberg, who recently turned 56, has only competed in six matches since the beginning of 2020, with half of them failing to even reach the three-minute mark, including the encounter with Reigns. Back in 2017, Goldberg was successful in holding onto the Universal Championship twice before losing both of them at WrestleMania.
Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley
At Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia, he defeated “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt to win the Universal Title. But lost it to Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 36 a month later. In 2021, he also lost to Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley at the Royal Rumble and SummerSlam, respectively. And finally, there were speculations that AEW had been interested in Goldberg since at least 2019. No confirmation, though, was ever provided.
According to Bill Goldberg, who just admitted that he struck a pact with the devil and did his job, WWE owes him a retirement match. The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion did not elaborate on the details of that arrangement. It is obvious that he is looking into ways to end his competitive career.
Last year, Goldberg stated that the 56-year-old’s contract was set to expire at the end of 2022. But, a recent source suggests that the man is still under contract with the organisation. Because of the length of the terms previously agreed upon, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Goldberg’s most recent and lucrative WWE contract is still in effect.
