Drake & Josh Star, Drake Bell Talks Child Endangerment Allegations

The former Drake & Josh actor, Drake Bell has addressed the child endangerment allegations which he recently faced. He is an American actor, musician and is best known for his role in the Nickelodeon show, Drake & Josh.

After the show ended, Drake went on to create a music career and remained out of the public eye for some time. But he came into the limelight this year as he was charged with child endangerment. The actor came under that radar after an inappropriate text conversation he allegedly had with a minor in 2017.

He was then arrested this year and was released on bail under the condition that he does not contact the victim. Drake went on to plead guilty to charges of child endangerment and of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. The victim had made her public statement at the trial; as she accused the actor of sexually assaulting her when she was a minor.

The actor was sentenced to 2 years of probation and 200 hours of community service. Drake is now speaking out about the issue for the first time. He took to his social media to post a short video. The actor offered to explain the trial and the nature of his crimes and admitted that he was involved in “reckless texting” with a fan whose age he wasn’t aware of.

However, when he knew about her age he stopped talking to her. The victim continued to attend Drake’s shows and meet-and-greets and he did not realize that she was the same person he was texting. He added that nothing physical occurred; no photos were put out but he did plead guilty to bring a quick end to the trial.

Drake clarified that much of the details surrounding his case is false and urged his fans to not believe everything they read or hear. The actor denied claims of sexual assault and has already come under the wrath of the internet. His former co-star, Josh Peck has commented on the case as he expressed his disappointment at the charges.

Drake chose to remain silent which seems to have fueled the speculations. It is difficult to know if the actor is telling the truth; but it is true that he wasn’t charged with sexual assault. The news reports which claimed that there was a sexual element involved were lacking evidence. It is essential for Drake to put out his side of the story but it is just as important that it is done in respect to the victim.
