Drake is coming back in 2021 to release his sixth studio album. The rapper dropped a teaser for Certified Lover Boy and announced that the album will be released in January.
He chose to drop the teaser as he celebrated his 34th birthday. The artist posted a short video that saw a young boy looking up at the sky before the scene shifted. The video then showed a pensive Drake sitting at a table with a heart shaved into his hair.
Fans noted that there were nods to previous albums and mixtapes which included So Far Gone, Take Care and Nothing Was the Same. Drake’s new teaser for the album, Certified Lover Boy comes after his 2018 Scorpion. The rapper released the first track, Laugh Now Cry Later, back in August.
The artist had previously the new album back in April and its original date was set for this last summer. Rappers and musicians also commented on Drake’s teaser. Carnage commented saying this year does not deserve this album and said it was a great way to start the new year. Meanwhile, Lizzo and G-Eazy wished Drake a happy birthday.
The rapper recently celebrated his son, Adonis’ birthday as he shared the rare photo with his kid. He captioned the post writing, “Young Stunna”. The artist had previously shared an adorable picture which was also a milestone moment as it was his son’s first day at school.
Adonis was wearing an all-black ensemble including sweatpants and a hoodie which had a star printed on it. He was donning black sneakers and had his hair in cornrows. “First Day Of School … The World Is Yours kid 🌍,” Drake wrote in the caption.
