Actress Dakota Johnson has brought denim-on-denim back and taken it to new heights. She was attending the Sundance Film Festival in order to honor Luca Guadagnino with the international icon award. The Persuasion actress opted for a full dark-wash outfit.
Dakota donned her Magda Butrym look that had a structured bustier along with a plunging neckline. She had a double-breasted denim trench coat along with high-waisted pants which had a wide-leg silhouette.
As for accessorizing, the actress opted for her Americana-inspired pieces. She kept it simple and classic with a gold and diamond pendant by Jessica McCormack. Black heels and her pointed toes peeking out from the hem of her pants finishes the look.
If we take a closer look at her jewelry in gold, there are rose-shaped buttons on her coat. Denim-on-Denim trend is from the ’80s, however, the trend extended to the 1990s and early 2000s. Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake have been memorable celebrities who helped with its reputation.
But this look usually made its way to somewhat punk-rock looks. However, now double or triple denim seems to be making a comeback. Megan Fox wore a jean corset recently and Camille Razat made an all-denim outfit look chic.
