Crypto Punks are one of the most valuable NFT collections around and recently a Crypto Punk (#5822) has been sold for a record breaking 8,000 ETH, that equals to more than $23,700,000 at the time of writing this article
Who Bought CryptoPunk #5822?
Crypto Punks are a collection of 10,000 unique digital art characters and no two of them are the same. The buyer of Crypto Punk #5822 is the CEO of Chain – who goes by the name of Deepak.eth on the blockchain.
The record-breaking NFT purchase has been reported by the CryptoPunks Bots on Twitter. The CryptoPunks Bot is developed by the same company which made Crypto Punks and it announces all sales and large bids for CryptoPunks on the Ethereum blockchain.
Deepak.eth shared the news on his official Twitter handle as well. Right before purchasing the Crypto Punk NFT for a record amount, the Chain CEO also did a 3..2..1 countdown on his Twitter handle.. and the rest? That’s history.
Historic NFT Sale
Previously, the highest legitimate sale for a CryptoPunk was $11.7 million but now that record has been broken by a massive amount.
Crypto Punks have been the center of attention since the last one year or so. Just like the BAYC NFT collection, a lot of celebrities own Crypto Punks.
