Christian Bale To Star In Scott Cooper’s Upcoming ‘The Pale Blue Eye’
Hollywood star Christian Bale is teaming up with filmmaker Scott Cooper for his next feature film The Pale Blue Eye.
The former Oscar-winning actor Bale had collaborated with the acclaimed director Scott of the critically acclaimed movies Out of the Furnace and Hostiles.
Louis Bayard’s 2003 Novel
According to the deadline, the new movie is based on Louis Bayard’s 2003 novel of the same title. The plot is focused on an attempt to resolve a series of murder cases that took place in 1830 at the US Military Academy in West Point.
Bale will present a veteran detective investigating the killings, assisted by a new and young cadet that understands the details and will later become world-renowned author, Edgar Allan Poe. Cooper said the film is his attempt to create a kind of whodunnit.
Christian Charles Philip Bale is an English actor. Known for his versatility and intensive method acting, he is the recipient of many awards, including an Academy Award and two Golden Globe Awards, and was featured on the Time 100 list of 2011.
‘Joy For Me’
“I want to make films that push me into a different, maybe uncomfortable space, but I am glad to have Christian go there with me. I’ve wanted to make this for over a decade and fortunately for me, Christian has perfectly aged into the lead character,” the filmmaker said.
“He was far too young when I first thought of making this. Films are meant to happen at the right time. Christian is always in high demand, but to be able to make this with him will be such a joy for me,” he added.
Scott Cooper is an American director, screenwriter, producer and actor. He is known for writing and directing Crazy Heart, Out of the Furnace, Black Mass and Hostiles.
Cooper and Bale will also be producing the movie alongside John Lesher and Tyler Thompson of Cross Creek. Production is expected to begin by the end of the year.
Bale is currently filming for Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder, co-starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson. He will also star in filmmaker David O’Russell’s untitled next alongside John David Washington and Margot Robbie.
