Chris Martin went on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show recently and discussed a variety of subjects, including his band Coldplay’s work with BTS for the hit song My Universe. Chris highlighted the collaboration during his visit on the show, and while looking at a photo of his band with the K-Pop group, joked that Coldplay looked like their “gym teachers.”
While My Universe became a huge hit almost soon after its release, Coldplay’s frontman talked about meeting the band and what he liked best about the song. “We adore them,” Chris added. It turned out to be one of the most genuine feelings, despite the fact that it could have appeared artificial. We adore those people.
Martin also talked about hanging out with BTS in South Korea, saying that it was “great to see how their lives were going.” He continued, “They’re a completely different kind of band than we are. In some ways, it’s a lot more disciplined.”
Chris also addressed the ongoing talk about Coldplay’s retirement in the same interview, stating that the band will release three more albums until 2025, after which they will continue to perform but not create any new music. The singer compared their band’s path to that of Harry Potter, saying to Ellen, “I believe we will continue to tour and remain together as a band of musicians and friends, but I believe the story of our albums will come to an end at that point. Harry Potter, for example, comes to an end at a certain point.”
