Cara Delevingne Explains Viral Photos With Megan Thee Stallion at BBMAs

For her “weird” images at this year’s Billboard Music Awards, Cara Delevingne has a perfectly logical justification.

The actress, 29, provided fans with the context behind her now-viral photographs from her night at the May BBMAs with Megan Thee Stallion, during her appearance on Wednesday night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She said to Fallon that she was already in Las Vegas, Nevada, with friends when the rapper, 27, asked her to join him in the front row for the music awards presentation.

“I really wanted to see her play and she asked me to come along with her,” she said. “I didn’t know I was going to go and sit or do anything, I thought I was just going to come and watch her play.”

“I walked in and I had a seat in the front row, and I’m like, ‘I’m not meant to be here,'” she added. People were talking about Delevingne’s entrance into the award presentation and her appearance in the “Plan B” rapper’s images rather than her seat.

What Else Did She Say?

In some photos, the Carnival Row star can be seen assisting in tossing her dress’ train into the air in order to obtain an elusive fashion shot and generally making very peculiar faces. “I was helping her and I was doing it, and I was going like, ‘Yeah girl!’ I was hyping her up, being a hype woman,” the model-turned-actress added.

Delevingne continued to be supportive by helping Megan read lines for her on-stage appearance and even paused to stop and take pictures of other celebrities from her good spot on the floor.

“She had a speech she was going to do because she was winning an award, so I was helping her run her lines,” she expressed. “I was living my best life, but people found it a bit odd. People find me a bit odd, but that’s me. No shame,” she stated of the event.

Delevingne also discussed her work on Season 2 of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building with the host during the program.

Delevingne joined the cast of the Hulu series’ second season as Alice, a “art world insider,” who eventually falls in love with Selena Gomez’s character Mabel Mora. The show also stars her longtime pal Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Martin Short.
