Billboard Japan just announced its official year-end charts, including ‘Top Artists’ and ‘Top Albums,’ to bring the year 2021 to a close. Both charts include results from the entire year of 2021, and BTS came out on top in both!
BTS reigned supreme on the ‘Top Albums’ chart with their Japanese-language compilation album, ‘BTS, THE BEST.’ In just one day, ‘BTS, THE BEST’ smashed the Oricon Chart’s first-week sales record for any album released in 2021. On June 16, a total of 571,589 copies were sold. ‘BE’ is at number 7, ‘Butter’ is at number 17, and ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 -THE JOURNEY’ is at number 58 on Billboard Japan’s year-end list.
‘Dynamite’ was also ranked second on the ‘Top Streaming Songs’ list, followed by ‘Butter’ at number six and ‘Permission To Dance’ at number eighteen.

BTS’ Jimin Sets A SoundCloud Record
The BTS crew isn’t going anywhere after breaking yet another record! Jimin has a personal achievement to boast about: his solo single ‘Promise’ has received over 300 million streams on the streaming platform SoundCloud. He is now the first and only track in SoundCloud history to achieve so.
The song was launched on December 31, 2018, and is only available to stream on the site, making it a favorite among ARMYs worldwide. Furthermore, the #Jimin set a new record by becoming the most talked person on the social media site, with over 66 million mentions. Not only that, but Jimin and the other BTS members recently launched personal Instagram accounts to interact with fans, gaining millions of followers in the process.
