In the mid-credit scene, we got a surprise reveal of Zeus’s son “Hercules” who is played by none other than Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein. In an interview, he spoke about how he got to know about his cameo, and how much time it took for him to prepare.
Brett shared his experience he says that once out of nowhere someone from the Marvel team contact him to ask if he could quickly join a Zoom Call. By night he already got the role to play “Hercules” in the MCU.
He says, “No I didn’t know what it was for. I was told that some Marvel people would like to have a zoom with you, and I met with them and It was just so surreal because… It was literally out of the blue one night and I was very busy and it was like, ‘ Can you make time for a Zoom?’
To which Brett responded, “Yes Sure”. He further reveals some interesting Marvel meeting insights about what they talked about regarding his role. He added, ” They just told me what you see in the film, which is the sort of opened with, ‘So Russell Crowe is Zeus and I’m like,’ Yeah Ok go on ‘.
He speaks about how it came as a shock when Marvel people revealed that he is playing Hercules. He continues, “And then they turn around and they reveal It’s Hercules, it’s you. And I went, ‘What?’ Just like, “Are you serious? Are you fucking with me? Is this a wind-up? So yeah, it was as surprising to me as I think it has been to other people.”
Brett’s Prep For Hercules Cameo
The Ted Lasso actor further revealed that he only got two weeks’ time to prepare for his role. He chatted with Taika Waititi about the same and got to know in two weeks they are going to film the credit scene.
Brett says he told Waititi, ” I mean, I’ll do my best, but two weeks feels … I said, ‘he doesn’t have to be as big as Thor, does he? And look, on the day, I mean, I’m doing 400 pushups that day. I was fit to explode. I did the best I could on that day.”
