On a latest WWE live event in the United Kingdom, WWE celebrity Bobby Lashley got a scare once the ring ropes cracked during a fight between him and Drew McIntyre. Drew McIntyre described the accident and his initial thoughts as it happened in real-time.
McIntyre described the experience as “very quick yet very slow.” When there is trouble, things just seemed to slow down for me, and I am acutely aware of what is going on. When I hit the ropes, I knew something was wrong. I was lucky to grab myself instantly and was looking straight ahead, where I saw Lashley fall. As a result, the rope snapped as I connected. He was a fraction of a second behind me. He didn’t have any rope. He ended up going into what should have been the top rope and kept going head over heels at that speed.
Fortunately, he decided to land safely, said McIntyre
Drew McIntyre was relieved after he saw how Lashley managed to land outside the ring. McIntyre assumed Lashley would be fine after seeing that, and he was correct.
Fortunately, I saw how he decided to land, said McIntyre. He was completely smitten. Those massive traps landed on the ring apron. Fortunately, his head did not collide with the ring apron. He decided to flip himself over onto the mat outside. I could tell he was going to be all right.
He’d be fine, realising this. A guy who spends his days rolling around and fighting, and taking unnecessary falls. No cams are watching it right now, I often say. Why are you torturing yourself? However, he relishes the physicality. I saw he tried to land, and realising him, I felt sure he’d be fine. And, luckily, he was unharmed. In those circumstances, you can just pray for the best. Accidents do occur.
Bobby Lashley is back in a film, eleven years from his last appearance, this time going to explore his lucha libre roots. The veteran WWE Champion will appear in Green Ghost as well as the Masters of the Stone, an upcoming action-comedy. Danny Trejo, known best for his lead roles in the movies Machete and Machete Kills, also appears in the movie.
