BLACKPINK’s Rosé Duetted With SHINee’s Onew & AKMU’s Lee Su-Hyun

BLACKPINK’s Rosé has come together with SHINee’s Onew and AKMU’s Lee Su-hyun for a cover of Alicia Keys’ If I Ain’t Got You.

The singer returned for a third appearance as a special guest on the South Korean Variety programme Sea of Hope on 27th July. Various other Korean celebrities performed music and prepared meals for guests at a seaside venue.

The performance was started by Lee as she sang the first verse. Onew was next in line as he provided wonderful vocals during the chorus. Rosé then took over and sang the second verse. The three of them then came together for the final chorus.

“Some people want diamond rings / Some just want everything / But everything means nothing / If I ain’t got you, yeah,” the trio harmonised. Onew concluded his performance with a soulful rendition of the outro. But that is not the only time they teamed up.

Rosé and Onew came together elsewhere during the episode to sing the cover of Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat’s popular 2019 hit Lucky. “Lucky I’m in love with my best friend ; Lucky to have been where I have been / Lucky to be coming home again,” they sing in the chorus.

This is not the first time the BLACKPINK team member is performing on Sea of Hope. Earlier this month, the singer had made an appearance where she took on the popular 2009 Paramore song, The Only Exception. Furthermore, she had already made her debut appearance on the show as a guest back in June; where she performed a version of John Mayer’s Slow Dancing in a Burning Room.

John had reacted to her rendition of the sing and described it as “gorgeous”. He later gifted the K-Pop singer a pink electric guitar as a thanking gesture for her cover of his 2006 track. Even after singing the song, she said her life is complete.
