Billie Eilish Became Spotify’s ‘Most Streamed’ Female Artist Of 2020

Billie Eilish became the most streamed female artist on Spotify for this year. The singer has 49,736,031 monthly listeners on the platform as she beat Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande to be on Number one.

The platform took to its social media to reveal the statistics as they shared the top 10 female artists with most streams on Spotify in 2020. Billie has not released an album this year and still managed to be on top of the list.

The singer’s first album, When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? Was released back in March 2019. She became widely popular after the release of her hit single, Bad Guy. Although she did not release an album this year, Billie did gift us three beautiful tracks.

The singer released, No Time To Die which she wrote for the upcoming James Bond movie. She also released her track, My Future which was performed during the Democratic National Convention. The recent track that she released, Therefore I Am, was released in November.

Therefore I Am is currently sitting at number one on Billie’s ‘popular’ songs list on Spotify. The singer received a total of four Grammy Nominations for her 2019 single Everything I am and her James Bond track, No Time To Die. Taylor came in second place on Spotify’s most-streamed females.

The singer became the ultimate quarantine soundtrack after she surprised all of us with her eighth studio album, Folklore. She garnered nearly 31 million listeners a month on the platform. The singer surprised her fans with the 17-track record which came less than a year after the release of her album, Lover.

Spotify’s Most-Streamed Female Artists

Ariana Grande secured the third position after having 69,055,072 monthly listeners. She released her recent album, Positions on October 30. However, her superhit record, Thank U Next debuted in February 2019 was the reason which garnered more listeners.

Dua Lipa earned fourth place as she garnered 59,027,368 monthly listeners on Spotify with three of her tracks ranking in the top five. The songs are from her album, Future Nostalgia which was released back in March. Lady Gaga’s Chromatica was almost towards the start of the pandemic.

She garnered 40,010,973 listeners a month as her recent singles topped the charts. The singer also gained more listeners through her A Star is Born movie soundtrack. Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, and Camila Cabello followed in Billie as they decided not to release new albums this year either.

The top 10th position was taken by Selena Gomez as she released her most personal record, Rare back in January. The singer garnered 36,465,375 listeners a month with her soulful track, Lose You To Love Me.
