Matt Hardy

Backstage Information Regarding Matt Hardy’s And Many Other AEW Stars’ Injuries

So far, the story of 2022 has been one of injuries, injuries, and more injuries. All Elite Wrestling has already been dealing with a lot of injuries this year, which has sent plans turning off in unexpected directions as the company is working hard to sustain momentum in the midst of all the speed bumps.

A report released today provided updates on 3 WWE stars who have been injured: Lee Johnson, Matt Hardy, & Darius Martin. Johnson has not yet wrestled since May and is said to be suffering from an undisclosed knee injury. According to sources, he will be out of commission for at least a few weeks. Lee’s most recent appearance saw him win a tag fight along with Arn’s son, Brock Anderson.

Matt Hardy is also said to be suffering from knee problems. According to the report, Hardy was having knee pain after his match this past Saturday in Tijuana, where he wrestled for AAA at the promotion’s Triplemania show. Hardy teamed up with John Hennigan (Johnny Hardy for a night only), who filled in for Matt’s brother while Jeff was away dealing with his health following a DUI arrest last week.

Finally, sources believe Darius Martin will return before the end of the year, but nothing is assured. Martin was injured in an accident earlier this year, which forced him to miss fight. The news paints a more complete picture of the roster constraints that AEW is dealing with as a result of the industry’s recent spate of injuries. Because AEW Champion CM Punk is healing from foot surgery, an Interim AEW Championship has been created.

Adam Cole is still rehabbing, and Bryan Danielson lately missed a meet-and-greet as well as a flight due to an injury that has yet to be disclosed. Bryan will discuss his health on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

Jeff Hardy’s DUI arrest

Matt Hardy revealed before Jeff Hardy’s DUI arrest on Monday about the significance of him and his brother potentially capturing the AEW World Tag Team Titles this Wednesday on Dynamite. Matt asserted that he anticipated Jeff to be medically cleared for the fight, just a few weeks after Charismatic Enigma has been pulled from a marketed match due to an undisclosed injury.

As long as Jeff is medically passes, which I believe he will be, OK, we’re going to tear down the house in this three-way ladder match to be the AEW World Tag Team Champions, Matt replied. If we accomplish this, we would be the first tag team in pro wrestling history to handle the major world tag team titles in 4 different years. Matt mentioned earlier in the interview that The Hardys will be celebrating their 30-year commemoration in the wrestling business this October.

Matt admitted that it was great to work with Jeff again. Especially in AEW, where I believe we are emphasised in a way that is true to the star’’ status that we have hopefully attained. That is what people tell us. We truthfully don’t feel that way because, at the end of the day, we’re two young kids jumping on a trampoline. We’ve always wanted to do this.
