In a backstage interview for tonight’s SmackDown broadcast, SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair heaped praise on Rhea Ripley. Tonight’s SmackDown Women’s title fight saw Charlotte Flair defeat, Sonya Deville. Soon after, she was asked about her WrestleMania 39 opponent, Rhea Ripley of The Judgment Day, in a backstage interview. In the interview, The Queen was only positive about The Nightmare. See what she said below:
Rhea Ripley, I’m honoured she picked me. I’m happy for her that she won the Royal Rumble, especially after going one to thirty. We clearly have unfinished business, but I also believe I might be her worst nightmare, right? When Rhea Ripley won the NXT Women’s championship at WrestleMania 36, Charlotte challenged her for the title. Charlotte won the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble match.
Since they had been betting on Charlotte to defeat the rising star on The Grandest Stage of Them All, many fans were disappointed at the outcome of the fight. Over the course of the following year or so, Flair and Ripley continued to fight. The two’s story had finally reached its climax ever since Ripley confronted The Queen following the Queen’s defeat in the Royal Rumble match.
Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair future plan
For the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 39, the two women will compete against one another. The Nightmare is determined to defeat Charlotte at the mega-event in order to avenge what happened at WrestleMania 36 in 2020. Rhea Ripley, who is 26 years old, has already performed enough to merit inclusion into the WWE Hall of Fame at some point in the future.
She still has a long way to go, but she plans to continue to win titles. Rhea Ripley would undoubtedly become a legitimate top female WWE superstar with a victory over Flair at The Show of Shows. At WrestleMania 39, Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair plan to resume their rivalry. The victor of the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble, Ripley, made a promo for the 1/30 WWE Raw detailing why she chose to compete for Flair’s SmackDown Women’s Championship at the Showcase of Immortals rather than Bianca Belair’s “Raw” Women’s Championship.
