Asuka Teases Significant Changes To Her Character And Appearance

Is Asuka about to change who she is? The seasoned WWE superstar has hinted at returning to her former gimmick, the murder clown Kana, from her days in the Japanese indie circuit, in a series of tweets over the past few days. Asuka, responding to a tweet from the WWE’s official account, asked the WWE Universe to pick someone else to win the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble Match in her initial tweet.

The tweet was posted shortly after Asuka lost to Bayley and Rhea Ripley in a triple-threat match on “WWE Raw.” Asuka then tweeted the following: “I’m not seeking respect. I have never desired respect. That is irrelevant to me. I’m going to bed after listening to the newest Metallica song.” Following that, Asuka posted some images from her time as Kana and a message that appeared to worry some of her fans.

Asuka was at it again on Wednesday, igniting controversy with a video clip of herself in Kana makeup and a passage from Mozart’s Queen of the Night aria. Asuka hasn’t had the best of luck lately, losing a string of matches at both televised and WWE live events despite being on the winning team in the WarGames match at Survivor Series. With her recent losing streak, it’s entirely possible that WWE creative is positioning her for a character change. Since her time as one-half of The Kabuki Warriors with Kairi Sane, Asuka has not played a heel in the WWE.

Asuka’s Shoulder Surgery

Asuka’s shoulder surgery has been completed, and she is ready to return. She hasn’t featured on WWE TV since July’s Money In The Bank 2021. The winner of the 2018 Women’s Money in the Bank contract last contested on February 19 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. At WrestleMania 38, Bliss competed in the Elimination Chamber match to decide the No. 1 challenger for the RAW Women’s Championship.

For the first time in September 2021, Bliss returned to RAW in January, appearing in vignettes through therapy sessions to assist WWE Superstars overcome their former relationship with The Fiend, Bray Wyatt. Bayley is currently rehabbing from a ruptured ACL and is set to return in March, according to reports. Bayley’s return to the arena at WrestleMania 38 might include a match with Rhea Ripley. Let us know your thoughts in the comments area.
