Apurva Asrani questions R Balki’s statement on Ranbir Kapoor – Alia Bhatt

The filmmaker R Balki had earlier supported the starkids calling Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt the best actors in the industry!

Amid the ongoing debate of nepotism, everyone is expressing their views of the privilege that the starkids gets. The filmmaker R Balki too talked about the same. He said that he feels it’s unfair for talented starkids sometimes.

He told Hindustan Times, “The question is do they (star kids) have an unfair or bigger advantage? Yes, there are pros and cons. But I’d ask one simple question: Find me a better actor than Alia (Bhatt) or Ranbir (Kapoor), and we’ll argue. It’s unfair on these few people who’re probably some of the finest actors.”

But it seems like the writer Apurva Asrani does not agree with Balki’s views. Sharing a news piece on his statement, he shared a few talented names from B-town. “Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao, Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann, Kangana Ranaut, Priyanka Chopra, Taapsee Pannu, Vidya Balan, Richa Chaddha. Many others too if we look beyond A list film families, and take a few chances. I love Ranbir & Alia, but please, they aren’t the only good actors,” wrote Asrani.

He went on to add more names like Pankaj Tripathi, Gajraj Rao and Amit Sadh saying that the list is long about the wonderful talents we have in the industry. He also asked people to stop fussing over the same 3-4 known names now.

In another tweet, Apurva had written, “Some filmmakers & journalists are so star struck, that they gush over mediocre actors with famous surnames. Repeatedly, these actors headline projects & the press gushes. Talented actors are mostly used as garnishing–to make the mediocre look better, but NEVER to outshine them.”
