Another Superstar Will Be Absent From The AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door Event On Sunday

NJPW announced that NJPW superstar Tomohiro Ishii has a left knee wound and will not contend at AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door on June 26. In the AEW All-Atlantic Championship Four-Way fight at Forbidden Door, Clark Connors will replace Ishii. Connors vs. PAC vs. Malakai Black vs. Miro is now the match.

The full statement from NJPW is as follows: Thank you for your interest in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Tomohiro Ishii, who was set to compete at AEWxNJPW Presents Forbidden Door on June 26, has suffered a left knee injury and is not physically ready to compete. We apologise profusely to fans who were staring forward to see Ishii wrestle and thank you for your patience.

Clark Connors will replace Ishii in the All-Atlantic Championship four way at Forbidden Door after a hard fought qualifying match on June 21 in Korakuen Hall. The following is the card change: Four-Way AEW All-Atlantic Championship, PAC versus Miro versus Malakai Black versus Clark Connors.

As previously stated, AEW has been interacting with a slew of injuries leading up to the Forbidden pay-per-view. Bryan Danielson as well as CM Punk are just two of the AEW wrestlers who are currently injured and will miss the event on Sunday.

The AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door event will take place at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, and would be broadcast on Bleacher Report and traditional PPV platforms.
