Angelina Jolie Reveals How Brad Pitt Divorce Impacted Her Career Goals

Angelina Jolie has opened up about what it is like to be a single mom. She parted ways from Brad Pitt in 2016.

The actress has taken on lesser projects than she would usually. She discussed with Entertainment Tonight that she loves directing but she had a change in her family situation. The Maleficent star said, “I love directing, but I had a change in my family situation that’s not made it possible for me to direct for a few years.”

Angelina shared that she needed to do shorter jobs and be home more than usual. This is why she went back to doing a few acting jobs. Brad and Angelina share custody of their five children out of the six. Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox. Their eldest son Maddox is now 18.

According to a source, the exes have prioritized their kids’ health and happiness, especially during the coronavirus pandemic. The source said, “All the kids are home with Angelina but they have continued seeing Brad and go over for their regular visits.”

Further, the source revealed that they are keeping up with their schoolwork, practicing their languages, playing instruments, board games, and help cook dinner. According to the insider, “It hasn’t been too much of an adjustment since they are used to doing their schoolwork at home.” Although filming the HBO Max movie took place before the pandemic and at that time, Angelina had her kids by her side. Back in 2019, the actress and her children stayed in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

“Angelina spoils them with carts full of toys and sporting goods.”

“They are doing the same stuff in New Mexico that they do in LA. They have taken multiple Target runs and love shopping and going out to eat,” the insider shared at the time. “Angelina spoils them with carts full of toys and sporting goods. She loves to indulge them with new things as much as she can. She has had to work a lot so she wanted them to have fun and stay busy.”

The source also revealed that the kids also used to fly back to LA to see Brad. She talked about her unconventional family life recently. The actress shared that she feels she is lacking in all the skills to be a traditional stay-at-home mother. Although her life has been unconventional, the actress shared that she never felt better. As she put it, “I feel that I’m gonna hit my stride in my 50s.”
