AMC Announces Walking Dead Character-Focused Special Episodes

AMC has announced that character-focused special episodes of The Walking Dead will be released this summer. Since its premiere 10 years ago, AMC’s long-running post-apocalyptic series has remained a top show. The Walking Dead has captured and horrified viewers with its cliffhangers and fan-favorite character deaths, based on Robert Kirkman’s graphic novels of the same name.

The long-awaited Walking Dead season 10 finale aired on AMC in October, following a postponement due to the coronavirus outbreak in April. Episode 16 was supposed to run a week following episode 15, but production was delayed, so AMC chose to extend season 10 with six more episodes, which began airing in February and ended in April with a bonus episode called “Here’s Negan,” which gave fans a look at Negan’s origin story. The Walking Dead’s 11th and last season is planned to premiere in August 2021, but AMC has something to keep fans entertained until then.

The Walking Dead

Origins, a new series of special episodes from AMC Networks (via Comicbook.com), will focus on four Walking Dead characters: Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan), Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), and Negan (Andrew Lincoln) (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

Fans of The Walking Dead will undoubtedly be overjoyed by this announcement, as Origins will centre on the series’ four most popular characters. “Here’s Negan,” the tenth episode of Season 10, centred solely on Negan, introducing his wife Lucille and outlining his history.

Fans, on the other hand, can never get enough of Negan, so it’ll be fascinating to discover more about these legendary characters from the actors’ views. There isn’t a shortage of content from the world of The Walking Dead.
