Few court documents that were unsealed have revealed that Amber Heard has refused to accept a divorce payout from her ex-husband, Johnny Depp. It could have been up to tens of millions of dollars but the actress refused it.
As per reports, she might have to sell her California home to settle with Depp after losing the defamation battle. These newly revealed documents have suggested that Heard ignored her legal team’s suggestion of asking Depp for maximum money back when they got divorced in 2016.
Reports suggest that the fourth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean was being filmed while the couple was still together. Heard could have asked for half of the $33 million but she did not.
In an email by the actress, it was written that she was being true to her words saying it’s not about the money. But during the defamation case, the judge did not admit it into evidence.
After the three-day deliberation, the jury ruled in favor of Depp in the defamation lawsuit. It was a unanimous decision that Heard had defamed the actor in an article written by her. The jury wanted her to pay $15 million in damages to Depp while they also awarded Heard $2 million.
Heard being broke was surfacing as she does not have the cash to pay Depp. Now, her one option might be to sell her Yucca Valley home in California. The judge presiding over the case of Johnny and Amber refused Team Amber to admit a conversation into evidence. This conversation was about how the actress was supposed to receive tens of millions of dollars from Depp.
