Amazon Closes Deal For Chris Pratt Starrer ‘The Tomorrow War’

Amazon has closed a deal for Chris Pratt starrer sci-fi feature, The Tomorrow War. The venture was delayed from a 2020 holiday release via Paramount. This was obviously done because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

However, the Skydance film is set to have a July 2 streaming debut. The film was directed by Chris McKay. It takes place after time travellers come to the present day to tell mankind that in future, they are losing a global war against a deadly alien species.

Those time travellers have to recruit soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future to join them in the fight. Chris plays a high school teacher and a family man, Dan Forester in the venture. He is determined to save the world for his daughter as he teams up with a brilliant scientist. The scientist is played by Yvonne Strahovski. Chris’ character also teams up with his estranged father played by J.K. Simmons.

The movie also features Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson and Edwin Hodge. It is produced by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, David Goyer, Jules Daly, Adam Kolbrenner. Meanwhile, it was executive produced by Rob Cowan, Brian Oliver, and Bradley J. Fischer.

The studio and the streaming service previously brokered a deal for the Coming to America sequel. Guardians of the Galaxy’s Star-Lord will appear in Thor: Love and Thunder. Chris Pratt accidentally confirmed his part in the upcoming movie although he did not mean to earlier this year.

Chris Accidentally Reveals He is A Part of Upcoming Thor Movie

Star-Lord has been rumored to be the new addition to Taika Watiti’s Ragnarok sequel. This comes after the events of Avengers: Endgame but now Chris has also confirmed his role. He accidentally revealed it in a chat with Tom Holland on Instagram.

The actor said he is looking forward to another year in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He said, “I’ve got Guardians coming up next year”. In a move which was quite similar to Tom himself, Chris revealed that he has got Thor. He shared, “And I’ve got Thor. I’m gonna go be in Thor in Australia, so I’ll be traveling to Australia in about a week.” Tom pointed out the accidental announcement as he told Chris that he just shared some “crazy” news. The Spider-man actor said, “I feel like no-one knew that”.

Chris responded confused if he was not supposed to say that. The actor said he thinks people knew that and if they did not then they know now. Other than Star-Lord, other Guardians character is also set to appear in Thor: Love and Thunder. Pom Klementieff who plays Mantis recently sparked speculation that she will also be joining the movie.

Marvel had recently confirmed that the comic book powerhouse and the fan-favorite character played by Chris Pratt is bisexual. The new information about his character in the Guardians of the Galaxy as Star-Lord/Peter Quill from the Marvel comics has been revealed after two movies.

The actor has played Star-Lord in two installments of the Avengers franchise as well. Marvel’s character’s future was left uncertain after the end of the second installment of Guardians of the Galaxy. However, the comic series has been revived by Al Ewing.

For the latest strip of Guardians of the Galaxy#9: I Shall Make You a Star-Lord, the story dives into the loveable space cowboy’s sexuality. His character ends up in a polyamorous relationship with a man as well as a woman. The Marvel comics show the character declaring his dedication to the pair as they share a bath.
