Here’s what Alia Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan has to say about nepotism

Actress Alia Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan, who is an actress herself, has now addressed the ongoing debate of nepotism in the industry!

Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide has triggered the debate of nepotism once again in the Bollywood film industry. Everyone some or the other person is giving out his views on the matter. Now the actress Alia Bhatt’s mother, Soni Razdan too has given her views.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta had tweeted, “This nepotism debate must be broadened. Merit counts most. My son got a step in the door because of me. And why not. But he’s been an integral part of my best work because he is talented, disciplined,  hardworking and shares similar values as me. Not just because he’s my son.”

In a series, he had explained how hypocrisy should be stopped, not talent. Soni added to his views, as she wrote, “The expectation that people have because of whose son or daughter you are is much more. Also those who r ranting about nepotism today and who have made it on their own will also have kids one day. And what if they want to join the industry? Will they stop them from doing so?”

This response has come after Alia receiving a lot of backlash from the people. Since Sushant’s demise, people have been trolling stars like Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Sonam Kapoor. The audience has accused them of promoting nepotism and taking up space in the industry which should actually go to those who are talented.

In fact, these stars have lost a huge number of followers on their social media accounts in the past few days. While Sonakshi has deactivated her Twitter account, Sonam has turned off the comments section on Instagram.
