Ali Fazal and Shweta Basu Prasad are thrilled to be a member of Ray on Netflix

Ali Fazal and Shweta Basu Prasad, who star in Netflix’s anthology based on the stories of great filmmaker Satyajit Ray, say it was a pleasure to be a part of Ray’s world. Ray will premiere on the streaming service on June 25 and will feature stories by Abhishek Chaubey, Srijit Mukherji, and Vasan Bala.

Manoj Bajpayee, Ali Fazal, Kay Kay Menon, Harshvardhan Kapoor, Radhika Madan, Shweta, Anindita Bose, Gajraj Rao, and Bidita Bag are among the stellar cast members in Ray.

Global Impact

Forget Me Not, a segment directed by Srijit, stars Ali and Shweta. In the film, Ali plays Ipsit, a corrupt business shark who also stars Anindita Bose. Ali, who described Ray’s character as larger-than-life, said the filmmaker’s contributions to literature and movies had a “global influence.”

“It’s an honour to be a part of his universe and to work on a project with such a strong link to him. With Forget Me Not, we drew inspiration from him and his writings to craft a story that would bring back memories of him while also provoking your thoughts “In a statement, the actor stated.

Ray’s films were a big part of Shweta’s childhood, and she has wonderful memories of watching them at her grandmother’s house.

“I think it’s a fantastic way to present Ray’s work of literature to the Netflix generation, and I’m honoured to be a part of it. Revolutionary Filmmaker

Satyajit Ray, a revolutionary filmmaker, auteur, and author of the legendary Feluda series, is also known for authoring some of India’s best short stories, which the anthology draws inspiration from.

Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa, Bahrupiya, and Spotlight are the titles of the other three stories in the upcoming anthology Ray. The stories were adapted for the film by Niren Bhatt and Siraj Ahmed, with Sayantan Mukherjee serving as showrunner.
