Ajay Devgn And Siddharth Roy Kapur Announce ’90s Satire Film, GOBAR!

Ajay Devgn has teamed up with producer Siddharth Roy Kapur for a 90s satire film titled GOBAR! The announcement was made today on April 16th.

As per Variety, Ajay shared that the story is unique, relatable, and incredibly funny. He also described it to be gripping and entertaining to the point where the actor is confident it will make people want to go to the theatres. The Singham actor shared that they are very clear about the impact they want to make.

He said, “The story of GOBAR! is at once unique, relatable, and incredibly funny, as well as gripping and entertaining to the point that I’m confident it will compel people to go to the theatres. We are very clear about the impact we want to make. We want viewers to laugh, relax, perhaps think a little bit and be entertained.”

Siddharth has added that the story revolves around the pointless but heroic journey of a simple citizen. He shared that in this venture the citizen deals with corruption in a way that will bring in a lot of laughs, adventure, and a simple message. The producer explained, “GOBAR! is a story that chronicles the seemingly pointless but ultimately heroic journey of a simple citizen who deals with corruption in a way that will bring on many laughs, much adventure, and ultimately a simple message about the power of the common man.”

He further shared the aspect that makes it entertaining and unique. Siddharth said, “What makes the film entertaining and unique is that it is a situational comedy that sheds light on the inner workings of power.”

The movie is set in North India and will revolve around the story of a veterinarian who is firmly standing against the local hospital after finding of its corrupt practices. It will be helmed by Sabal Shekhawat. The shooting will start later this year if the circumstances are better. It is yet to cast other actors for the venture.
