Tribute to Captain Vikram Batra

Sidharth Malhotra paid tribute to Captain Vikram Batra, whom he portrayed onscreen, on Independence Day.

In New Delhi, the actor paid his respects to Captain Vikram Batra and all other Fauji warriors, writing, “Paid my respects to Captain Vikram Batra & all other Fauji heroes in Delhi.” This. He writes to his loved ones with such warmth and affection… while at war! That’s the kind of determination a soldier has. I could picture Vikram in front of my eyes when I read this message! As he writes, he smiles… with bombs falling in the background. He seemed as if he had discovered a calm spot to relax in. But it’ll be lethal when he returns to work… He’ll fight for his country to the end of his days. However, there is more than one Vikram. We lost 527 Vikrams in Kargil alone. They had a good time – Yeh Dil Maange More! Let us be proud of every sainik as we remember them today. HIND JAI. “Happy 75th Independence Day.”
