A$AP Rocky Surprise Reaction to Being Hit With a Phone While Performing

A$AP Rocky had to stop performing after being smacked in the face by a flying cell phone during a recent performance in Latvia.

The A$AP Mob member shocked everyone by inviting the man who tossed the phone to come on stage and give him a hug as fans watched to see how he would respond. “You almost hit me with that phone and caught my face. You gotta be careful baby,” Rocky is seen saying to the fan with his hand on his shoulder. “I love you too. So you ready to go crazy?…look no more throwing phones man.”

Throwing Phones at Artists Becoming Common in Performances

During rap performances, projectile phones are now a typical occurrence. Earlier this year, during his performance at Wireless Festival’s opening weekend in London’s Crystal Palace Park, Lil Uzi Vert made the decision to throw a phone back into the audience.

The fan was allegedly hit by the Philadelphia rapper as he threw the phone into the air and was shown on TikTok being carried away by security with a bleeding head. “During Uzi’s set at Wireless Fest, fans threw multiple cellphones onto the stage and inadvertently struck him,” a source close to Uzi revealed. “He merely attempted to clear the phones from the stage, avoid slipping and safely continue his performance—he never intentionally directed it at a specific individual.”

Again, there was J. Cole, who, like A$AP Rocky, had his face smacked by a cell phone in 2014 while performing in San Diego. The North Carolina-born rapper’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive Tour was in full swing, but unlike Rocky, Cole chose to simply pocket the phone. It’s unknown if the fan ever received it.

In addition to having a child with Rihanna, A$AP Rocky traveled extensively this summer and attended many festivals. The “D.M.B.” rhymer, who will headline Rolling Loud New York 2022 alongside Nicki Minaj and Future, will return home in September. On September 24, Rocky will cap off the second night.
