A$AP Rocky Performed in Supporting Set for Red Hot Chili Peppers in Manchester

When it was revealed that supporting artist A$AP Rocky would take the stage following the band’s main set, Red Hot Chili Peppers fans at the Manchester concert were confused.

On Wednesday, the band played at Old Trafford, to the delight of 50,000 fans. Prior to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Thundercat supported and played in their original position.

Signs informed audience members that Rocky would take the stage after the band “due to unforeseen circumstances” when it came to his performance. He apparently had a 45-minute set scheduled initially, but he only played a 20-minute stint following the main act.

How Did the Fans React?

One guest made fun of Rocky’s orange attire on Twitter, posting,

Asap Rocky was late because he was tarmacking the M6. What a guy’.

Another fan jokes: ‘Do u think asap rocky didn’t wanna play manchester bc he’s still upset that liam gallagher called him whatsapp ricky.’

One more expressed: ‘Watching the place empty when he came on was super awkward, can’t believe I spent £90.’

Rocky’s set was postponed, although the reason is yet unknown. The band’s decision not to play their well-known tune Under The Bridge left several fans unhappy.

On June 25 and 26, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are scheduled to play London as part of their ongoing UK tour. On July 1, they will play Glasgow.

The wacky rockers, who have been active as a group in various incarnations since 1983, are on tour for the first time since guitarist John Frusciante returned in 2019. He had previously left the group in 1992 while they were on tour, returned in 1998, and then left once more in 2009 to concentrate on his solo career.
