Aamir Khan Celebrates 21 Years of Laagan, With a Reunion

Aamir Khan, hosted a reunion for the celebrations of his Oscars nominated film Laagan, the film recently turned 21. To celebrate the 21 years of the film, the film’s team were present for the reunion. The actor’s production house has shared the video, of the get together in the social media. In the video the glimpse of the celebrations from the party can be seen, Aamir hosted the party for director Ashutosh Gowarikar, actors Yashpal Sharma, Akhilendra Mishra, Raj Zutshi, Shankar Pandey, Raja Awasthi, Suhasini Mulay, Pradeep Ram Singh Rawat, and Amin Gazi. Along with the director and the actor, former Indian cricketers Irfan Pathan and Aakash Chopra were also present during the celebrations.

Aamir Khan’s production house had shared the video from the celebrations on the Instagram account, and captioned it as, “#21YearsOfLagaan.” Irfan went on to comment on the video saying, “What a lovely evening.”  Whereas, there were comments from the fans such as, “so adorable”, and “what a wonderful idea to meet after years, what fun it has been…” whereas another fan wrote, “What a spectacular reunion!!!”

The production house of Khan shared another video and went on to write, “Thank you for all the love for the last 21 years! The caption further read, “The journey of Aamir Khan Productions started with #Lagaan, and the film continues to be a part of our journey! Sach aur saahas hai jiske mann mein, ant mein jeet usi ki rahein…”

Laagan was a Breakthrough For Aamir 

Laagan was released on 2001, and it was a breakthrough film for superstar Aamir Khan’s career, and this film was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. During the last year when the iconic film celebrated 20 years, Aamir thanked filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar for giving him the opportunity to be a part of the masterpiece. Aamir said, “Firstly, I want to thank Ashutosh (Gowariker), and the entire cast and crew, and the partners as well as the entire exhibitor sector for their support. The actor further went on saying, I also want to extend my thanks to the seniors of the film industry who stood behind the project and showered so much praise on it.”
