A Lot Is At Stake For The Chicago Bulls In The Next Season!

In this off-season, some teams have made signings to put themselves above their opponents. Whether the signings will be fruitful or not, that answer will come in the form of results in the upcoming season. But not all teams can afford to make many mistakes. They need their results to be just as they predicted. One of those team who are in that condition is the Chicago Bulls.

The Bulls have a lot at stake in the upcoming season. They have made the important signings they needed to make in the season prior but they still need some additions in the rotation that would help them make the jump to a championship team.

The Bulls 2021-22 season preview

In the 2021 off-season, the Bulls signed DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso. They had instantly become a playoff team with the results they procured. In the middle of the season they even were the 1st seed in the Eastern Conference when their entire squad was playing.

However, the joint injury of Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso slowed them down a bit and they ended the season as the 6th Seed of the Eastern Conference. They faced off against the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round but were doused in 5 games.

The Bulls addressing their problems

The Bulls have some problems like a playmaker and their availability of shooters. Basically their team was built as such that if any one player got injured then their whole offense fails and becomes more isolation oriented. On top of that their perimeter defense opens up. They brought in coach Billy Donovan for his defense but if player get injured then the system will break.

But this off-season, the Bulls have addressed most of their problems. They signed Goran Dragic who is on the tail end of his career but his playmaking coming off the bench will keep the offense going. Also signing Andre Drummond was a smart move. Although Drummond now has become just to catch lobs and dunk, his rebounding skills are needed in the Bulls.

But their center has been a problem. Nikola Vucevic is beyond his prime now and his defense is going on a slump. Giannis basically bullied him in the paint in the playoffs last year. But his offense is an indispensible asset for the Bulls and he comes through at important moments. Developing Patrick Williams defense will help solve that problem for the Bulls.

Lonzo Ball has just announced that he is questionable for the start of the season which is something to worry about. Ball’s combination of 3-point shooting, perimeter lockdown and playmaking is needed for the Bulls early to grab wins. His late arrival could pose a problem with the East being as competitive as it is.

A lot riding at stake

The duo of Zach Lavine and DeMar DeRozan needs to work together and appear in as many games as they can. They have built a chemistry but they need to work on it more for them to execute their strategy on the playoffs. The Bulls need a deep playoff run in the next season. They have already risked everything on the trades and now needs to give the results. Constantly bouncing out of the first round of the playoffs would just be money down the drain.

DeMar has the stigma of cowering in the biggest stages, Lavine is thought to be just a regular season performer, Nikola Vucevic is just a basic center and Lonzo Ball will never be available. These stigmas have been put on the players. This means they have all the reason to prove everyone wrong. The next season will decide the legacy of the entire Bulls team!
