It’s a Boy! Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin Welcome Fifth Child Together: ‘We Couldn’t Be Happier’

The Baldwin family just grew a little bigger! Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin just welcomed their fifth child. The 36-year-old former yoga instructor announced the joyous news in an Instagram post on September 9th.

“We had a baby last night. He is perfect and we couldn’t be happier ????. Stay tuned for a name????,” Hilaria captioned the adorable post, alongside a photo of the couple in the hospital with their son. The newborn baby boy was swaddled in a blanket, held by the fitness guru, as both his parents lovingly looked down upon him.

Several of the couple’s famous friends as well as family members congratulated them on their happy news. “Congratulations to the entire battalion!!” Billy Baldwin wrote in the comments section. “I think Guillermo Eduardo has a fabulous ring to it!!,” he joked. While Katie Couric commented, “Mazel!!!! He’s beautiful.”

Hilaria and Alec, who tied the knot in 2012, are already parents to their four children. 6-year-old Carmen, 5-year-old Rafael, 3-year-old Leonardo and 2-year-old Romeo. Alec is also dad to 24-year-old daughter Ireland, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Kim Basinger.

“Here we go again”

Their baby boy’s arrival comes five months after Hilaria revealed that she was pregnant for the fifth time.

“Sound up … I’ll let the baby do the talking because I don’t have the words to express how this sound makes us feel,” Hilaria captioned a video of her baby bump. While the baby’s heartbeat is audible at the time. “Just got the great news that all is well and all is healthy with this little munchkin. I wanted to share this with you???? Here we go again ????,” she added.

Miscarriages

Hilaria’s pregnancy announcement was met with much excitement. Especially from her fans and well wishers who couldn’t be happier for the fitness guru, since she had unfortunately suffered two miscarriages in 2019.

Baldwin revealed the heartbreaking news in a video with her six-year-old daughter, Carmen Baldwin, which she captioned: “We are very sad to share that today we learned that our baby passed away at 4 months. We also want you to know that even though we are not ok right now, we will be. We are so lucky with our 4 healthy babies, and we will never lose sight of this. I told Carmen and took this so I could send it to Alec.”

“I guess this is a good way to share it with you too. I told her that this baby isn’t going to come after all,” said Hilaria. Who still maintained an optimistic positive throughout it all. “We will try very hard to give her a little sister another time. I’m really devastated right now… I was not expecting this when I went to my scan today. I don’t know what else to say… I’m still in shock and don’t have this all quite clear,” she revealed. Unfortunately, it was Hilaria’s second miscarriage that she suffered last year. In an April 4, 2019 Instagram post, Hilaria revealed that she not only was pregnant, but believed she was losing the pregnancy.

“I knew before I could take a test that I was pregnant”

Throughout her pregnancy, The Living Clearly Method author would keep her fans regularly updated by sharing pictures of her baby bump every now and then. Shortly after announcing her pregnancy, Hilaria revealed in an interview that she had known right away that she was expecting again. “I knew before I could take a test that I was pregnant. I’ve done this so many times that I really know that feeling.”

“Even though I knew it would be early, I started taking a test every other day to kind of give myself a sense of how far along I would be. And right when I thought it would turn positive, it did!” she added.

Surprise Baby Showers and False Labor Alarms

Last month in August, Hilaria was pleasantly surprised with a baby shower that her husband had managed to keep a secret.

“Thank you @violetgaynor and @davidwnugent for being our quarantine bubble and for surprising me with this baby shower tonight,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “I can’t believe you actually pulled it off … AKA I can’t believe that Alec didn’t tell me … because we all know that he can’t keep secrets from me!” Hilaria ribbed her husband. “So this was sooooo well done!”

The author and fitness guru also had a false labor alarm in late august. Talking about her experience in an instagram story, she shared, ‘I’ve had a million kids but drove 3 hours to the dr today because I thought maybe I was in labor. You’d think I’d know by now. But with living so far from the hospital due to COVID, I’m trying to anticipate labor even sooner.’

She added: ‘Literally was there for 10 min and had to drive 3 hours back home because I was not in labor. I’m wiped.’

Alec and Hilaria have currently been self-isolating with their children at their home in the upscale celebrity-studded enclave on Long Island. They left their New York City abode when the coronavirus pandemic broke out in March.
