More than 40 teaser photos for The Matrix Resurrections have been released, revealing both new and returning characters. The Matrix franchise’s highly anticipated fourth instalment will see director Lana Wachowski return and start up nearly two decades after the original trilogy finished with The Matrix Revolutions in 2003.
The plot for the latest instalment in the renowned sci-fi film series has mostly been kept under wraps, with the official trailer set to debut on September 9.
The Wachowski sisters directed the original Matrix trilogy, which was praised for its amazing special effects, mind-bending plot, and superbly choreographed action sequences. Stars Keanu Reeves as Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity, who both died in the original movies, are scheduled to return in Resurrections.
Neo will revert to his Matrix avatar name, Thomas Anderson, in Resurrections, according to the first-look footage shown at CinemaCon in August, with no apparent knowledge of his identity as The One.
